Models applicable: Epson L3150, Epson L3110

If your Epson L3150 printer is showing blinking ink and paper lights and your computer displays the message:

“Ink pad is at the end of its service life”,

don’t panic — this is a common issue and can be resolved quickly using the Epson Adjustment Program.

🔧 What Does “Ink Pad is at the End of Its Service Life” Mean?

This message appears when your printer’s waste ink pad counter reaches a preset limit. The waste ink pad is a sponge-like component inside your printer that absorbs excess ink during print head cleaning and maintenance.

Once the counter hits the limit, the printer stops working to prevent ink overflow — even if the pad is still usable.

⚠️ Symptoms:

  • Ink and paper lights blink alternately
  • Printer won’t respond to print commands
  • PC displays “Service Required” or “Ink pad at end of life

✅ Solution: Use the Epson L3150 Adjustment Program

The Adjustment Program is a reset utility tool from Epson that allows you to reset the waste ink pad counter back to zero.

🛠️ Steps to Reset Epson L3150 Ink Pad:

  1. Download the Epson Adjustment Program for L3150 from the download button.
  2. Extract and run the program as administrator. Password (Epson L3150)
  3. Select your printer model (L3150) and the port (usually auto-selected).
  4. Click on “Waste Ink Pad Counter” option.
  5. Tick the boxes and click “Check”, then click “Initialization”.
  6. After successful reset, turn off your printer, wait 10 seconds, and turn it on again.

📌 Important Notes:

  • Resetting the counter does not physically clean or replace the ink pad.
  • If your printer has been used heavily, it’s a good idea to replace or clean the pad manually.
  • Use this tool responsibly and only when needed.

📝 Conclusion

The Epson L3150 is a great printer, but like all inkjet models, the waste ink pad issue is inevitable with time.
Using the adjustment program is a reliable way to reset the error and keep your printer running smoothly.
